The Story of Louan
Louan grew from a childhood surrounded by fabrics. Tingting Han, our founder, was born into a family deeply rooted in the silk and textile trade where she developed an instinctive understanding of materials and garment construction from an early age, foundations that would later shape her design philosophy.
After graduating from Central Saint Martins in London, Tingting spent years working alongside contemporary London brands, guiding them from start-up concepts to full-scale production which sharpened her expertise in design and construction and reinforced her belief that the story of a garment begins in the choice of material and the care of its making.
The name “Louan” echoes the Chinese word for “soft 软,” echoing the brand’s philosophy that clothing should first offer comfort and refined elegance. Each piece is designed to feel effortless yet considered, a balance of ease and sophistication that invites the wearer to move through life gracefully.
